CIVIC AWARDS

Each year, Bungay Town Council holds a Civic Celebration where local residents are recoognised and awarded for the contributions they have made to their communities.  The Awards on offer are as follows:

THE BEZANT CUP

This Cup is presented to the person who has made the largest contribution to sport in Bungay or the Bungay resident who has made the largest contribution to a particular sport or sports in Bungay or elsewhere.

THE BUNGAY CIVIC AWARD

This Award (a shield with names engraved) recognises exceptional community service in Bungay.

THE TREVOR COLLYER CUP

This Cup is presented to the young person (11-18) living in Bungay or being educated in one of the Bungay schools who has, during the preceding 12 months, given outstanding service and commitment to their team, club or voluntary association including school team or out-of-school activity.

THE MADELEINE PARR LONG SERVICE COMMUNITY AWARD (THE MAYOR'S AWARD)

This Award will be presented in recognition of a group who has given outstanding, long-term support to the town and its community.

THE NEW COMMUNITY GROUP AWARD

This Award will be presented to a new group (established during the past 18 months) who has made a significant effort to enhance the well-being of the town and its community.
